Targeted Tutor Services

The Scholar Shop utilizes both personal tutoring and software based tutoring programs to provide learning methods that match the student's academic needs. Our approach to tutoring includes

• Diagnostic Assessments of the specific needs and learning styles of each child to identify the best methods through which the student can improve their learning skills and achieve scholastic success.
• Individualized Learning Paths, which avoid a one size fits all approach, is the key to opening the door to success for every student. Matching learning styles to the appropriate learning methods optimizes learning capabilities.
• Progress Monitoring provides the measurements to track the students performance against a benchmark of state objectives and standards for the students grade level. Progress reports are given to parents for review and discussion during a monthly parent conference.
• Learning Path Modifications are made based on the results of the Progress Monitoring. Ongoing modifications to the student's Individual Learning Path will keep the student progressing at maximum efficiency.
• Tutoring & Homework Labs provide a classroom setting, free from distractions, where students can apply their new learning skills with personal guidance to complete their coursework to the best of their abilities.
• Non–Competitive Environment where the student can learn at their own pace without the added pressures of a competitive learning environment. Removing this stress places emphasis on learning quality, versus speed of task completion, thereby assuring that the student retains more knowledge and develops better understanding of the subject material.
